Awards & Honors

During my long career, my books have received many awards and honors, including the following:

In 2014, I felt especially honored to receive the Edward O. Wilson Biodiversity Technology Pioneer Award for Exemplary Advocation of Biodiversity Through the Authorship of Children's Science Literature. This honor is for the body of my work, in which I have presented the importance of the concept of biodiversity all the way from a diverse gene pool to diverse populations in the wild in many of my books. My book "Biodiversity," unfortunately out of print, covers this topic thoroughly and was listed as a Best Science Book of the Year by the AAAS, along with other awards. Edward O. Wilson, who gives his name for this award, is one of my idols, so receiving an award in his name is very special to me.
